Shadamy 1

          I sat across from Tails at a small restraunt downtown. I felt odd. It was as if I was watching myself from above. Was this really my life? And why was I here?
*Ahem* I cleared my throat; the air was akward.
      
         "Ummm Tails, it was really nice of you to bring me here but it's kind of getting late and I'm a little tired."  

Tails had come over to my house in a blue suit and tie with daisies in hand. He had been so sweet, asking me on a date. I probably should have said no, but how could I have turned down the cute little critter? Well I had agreed to go anyways because I knew this wasn't really going to go anywhere so I threw on some jeans and a frilly shirt. How could it go anywhere? My best friend, Cream, would be devastated because Tails was her long time crush.

          "Oh! I'm so sorry Amy. I should have realized. I know you have work tomorrow. " His ears went down with adorable shame.

          "It's alright. It's not a big deal. I had a great time."

Tails called a waiter and paid the check. He took me home in his plane, the Tornado, but didn't leave as soon as we got there. He stopped the engine and looked at me, waiting. It was as if he had something to say but had to think of a way to say it. I waited patiently.

         "Amy...I know you probably think I took you out because I like you or something. I-I mean I do like you..It's just...y'know...not like that."

More thinking on his part.

         "Amy I really took you out on this date as a friend. I know you're having a hard time.... and with the thing that happend with Sonic a week ago...."

         "Thank you Tails. You're an amazing friend." I leaned over and gave him a long hug.
         "Wow, how lucky would Cream be to have you?"

He smiled, blushing, and let me out of the Tornado. "Thanks Amy. I'll probably stop by the shop tomorrow."

         "Alrighty. Goodnight Tails."
